In Memory of Gary J. Cronk

Obituary

Gary J. Cronk, 65, of Oneida, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, in the care of the Abraham House after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on May 15, 1957, in Oneida, NY to the late Allen “Tommy” Cronk and Sally (Shortell) Cronk. Gary graduated from Oneida City School and worked in the paint shop at Ferris Industries as a Finish Operator. He was an active member of the Owls Nest. In his spare time he enjoyed playing softball, hunting, and rooting for the NY Rangers and Los Angles Rams.

He is survived by his children, Ryan Cronk and his partner Taylor Shlotzhauer, and Kaylee Cronk; his grandchildren, Preslei Cronk, and Kaiden Elmore; his siblings, Laurie Sanborn and her husband Ed, Steven Cronk and his wife Karyn, David Cronk, and Christine Palamara and her husband Peter; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to The Abraham House in Rome NY for the help and comfort given to Gary.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Oneida NY, on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 10:00 am. A reception to follow services, being held at the Owls Nest in Oneida NY.
