So very sorry for you loss, Jason and Nick and family. I didn’t have much time with Coach D, but I learned a great deal about wrestling and struggle and perseverance - lessons I carry with me today. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. D was such a sweet and unassuming man. A favorite teacher among those I was fortunate to have throughout my high school career. As a teacher, he knew his stuff and presented in an unbiased fashion. I take a lot of good memories from SLCS, and Mr. D ranks near the top of those memories.
In my first year at college, we had a professor who was affectionately referred to as Mr. C. I think about that occasionally: a Mr. C in college, and Mr. D in high school.

Mr D was my high school history teacher, and we all thought the world of him. He was always eager to help, and I remember several of us going into his classroom after school to study for our regents exams. He was a kind, caring man , always with a smile. He will be truly missed. RIP Mr D ❤️

My sincerest condolences to the DiBenedetto family. Mr. D was one of the best! Not just teacher, but person. One of my fondest memories relates to October, 1978. The Yankees-Red Sox one game playoff. I mentioned to Mr. D I had to listen to the game on the radio at home, since our family did not have cable. He invited me to watch the start of game in the Social Studies area at SLCS. He and I and few others watched quietly in a corner of the room. It's funny the little things that people do for you, that stick in your mind the most. Thanks for the discussions about history, sports and life Mr. D, they've stuck with me a lifetime. Brian Hunziker
